A successful first collaboration between PNS and Orange Marine
News from our members :
Over the summer, Orange Marine entrusted Piriou Naval Services (PNS), Piriou's ship repair and maintenance subsidiary, with the technical decommissioning of its cable-laying vessel Pierre de Fermat. This first successful collaboration between the shipowner and the French shipyard demonstrates the Piriou Group's enhanced capabilities in ship repair. The work was completed in four weeks by PNS teams in Brest, the vessel's home port, where Piriou has dedicated ship repair facilities for vessels over 100 metres.
Emmanuel Décugis, Technical Director of Orange Marine, comments: We are very pleased to be working with Piriou Naval Services. French expertise in ship repair is recognised and this experience with Piriou Naval Services confirms this. The quality of the work carried out, the responsiveness of the PNS and Orange Marine teams and their ability to meet complex technical challenges have been exemplary. This collaboration reinforces our confidence in the skills and expertise of French players in the maritime sector.
Christophe LAGATHU, Managing Director of Repairs and Services for the PIRIOU Group, said: "I would like to thank Orange Marine for entrusting PNS with the ten-yearly inspection of the cable-laying vessel Pierre de Fermat. I am delighted that this flagship of the French fleet can be maintained and repaired in Brest. I salute the performance of the PNS teams, which confirms Piriou's ability to respond to major technical stoppages on complex vessels over 100 metres in length, and demonstrates the relevance of our Brest base to the needs of the market.
